Along The Tideline - Black-tailed Deer, acrylic, 13 x 41 inches, 2005

SOLD

“In 2002 I spent a few days hiking around Hurst Island on Canada’s west coast. I came across this quiet cove and was taken with the shapes and textures of this rock and the vegetation growing on top of it. While I didn’t see any deer on the Island, I decided to include one in the painting. The deer is looking out of the painting, drawing the viewer’s eye along the tideline and beyond. Hopefully the viewer is left wondering what lies beyond the painting, wanting to explore more, as I did.”
